Matt Barber is the writer and co-producer of the upcoming feature Anything to Anywhere, with Liz Trubridge and Gareth Unwin producing. He previously co-produced the quirky coming-of-age romantic comedy Love is Thicker than Water, starring Johnny Flynn and Lydia Wilson. He has a number of projects as writer and producer in development through New Empire Pictures. As an actor, Matt has worked extensively across the industry including winning a Screen Actors Guild for ensemble cast and BAFTA special award as “Atticus Aldridge” in Downton Abbey. Additional roles include starring alongside Pixie Lott in Breakfast At Tiffany’s, Michelle Dockery in Peter Hall’s Pygmalion and Juliet Mills in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes.

Scott Poulter is a serial entrepreneur and a keen advocate for start-up businesses. Between 1996 and 2003 he owned numerous sports marketing businesses which controlled various commercial or licensing rights in Formula One auto racing from 1996 to 2003. More recently Scott has been Chairman and CEO of Pacific Green Technologies, a global environmental technology and renewable energy developer based out of Vancouver, London and Sydney.


Winner of a Primetime Emmy, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Producers’ Guild of America awards, Liz Trubridge produced and executive produced all six series of Downton Abbey, which has sold in every single territory in the world and is the most successful British drama export of all time. Liz has gone on to produce all three Downton Abbey films. As well as her projects for New Empire, Liz is executive producing Lockerbie (TV) for Sky and is in pre-production on Anything to Anywhere (Feature) with Gareth Unwin, Oscar-winning producer of The King’s Speech.


Edo is a film executive with a wealth of experience spanning both independent and major studio productions. Beginning his career at GFM Films, he advanced to the role of Head of Sales before joining MGM Studios in 2018 as Vice President of International Sales and Distribution. During his time at MGM, Edo oversaw the international release of high-profile titles of the Studios. Recently, he launched Twenty-Nine Palms Entertainment, a company dedicated to supporting filmmakers while also providing consulting services to production companies on development, financing, and distribution strategies.


Alex is a Chartered Accountant with over 10 years experience in corporate finance and business strategy as both an advisor and principal investor. Alex is commercially focussed with experience across multiple industries and a strong interest in the creative sector.


As Head of Operations, Katherine keeps everything running behind the scenes at New Empire. After initially starting a career in Social Work, Katherine pursued an acting career in New York City before moving to London in 2020. Katherine also runs a sustainable fashion business and is a certified Colour Analyst.
